Mela's Pokemon are about ten levels higher than Brassius and it's an extremely nasty brick wall. The other weird choice is placing the Ground Titan (level 45) on the path you take to complete the Water Gym's challenge (level 30), though at least this isn't as much of a challenge as the Team Star fights..
